Scrum Your Way to the Top

Scrum is a management and control process that cuts through complexity to focus on building software that meets business needs. Management and teams are able to get their hands around the requirements and technologies, never let go, and deliver working software, incrementally and empirically. – Scrum.org

Scrum is a very simple, very quick project management scheme. It’s ideally suited to build MVPs and v1.0 products. I like it, because it gives projects are very real agility. Scrum make people, projects and software go lean.

So what are the main features of this methodology:

– Quick development sprints, ideally one week apart from each other

– Very quick meetings

– Small development groups

– A sole product owner

– Simple PM tools like user stories and sprint backlogs, etc

Scrum is my framework of choice for v1.0 products and a great addition to a startup’s management toolkit. I you have some PM issues I suggest you give Scrum a look. It’s well worth it.
